HAN Taekwondo’s 20th Grading

3 min read

As HAN Taekwondo celebrates its 5th Anniversary, we recently held our 20th Grading.

Over the past five years, our students have continued to develop their Taekwondo skills and abilities through regular training and grading.

During this latest grading, we could once again feel the students’ strong kihap, focused attitude and passion for Taekwondo.

Especially meaningful this time, three of our students challenged themselves for the Junior Black Belt. All three demonstrated the skills and confidence they had developed through consistent training at the STF examination venue.

What Does It Mean to Become a Junior Black Belt?

Becoming a Junior Black Belt is about much more than simply changing the colour of a belt.

It represents a journey that requires consistency, effort and the determination to overcome challenges.

First, Consistency Is Essential

Taekwondo skills do not develop overnight.

Students build their abilities by practising the fundamentals repeatedly, improving areas that need more work, and gradually developing their skills over time.

Second, Challenges Must Be Overcome

There are times in Taekwondo training when students may feel tired, frustrated or even want to give up.

However, learning to overcome those difficult moments and continue moving forward helps students become stronger and more resilient.

Third, Good Habits Become Part of Their Growth

Through the process of working towards goals and overcoming challenges, students can develop positive habits such as focus, self-discipline, responsibility and perseverance.

A Junior Black Belt is therefore more than a belt. It represents an important milestone in a student’s journey, reflecting their effort, progress and personal growth.

Peize

Peize has been a student full of passion for Taekwondo since her White Belt days.

Through consistent training, her Taekwondo skills and overall ability have developed significantly. She has also continued to work through challenges without giving up.

Today, she has grown into a strong and confident Junior Black Belt.

Peize’s journey is a great example of how consistent effort can gradually turn into real progress and achievement.

Damien

Damien was not always a big fan of Poomsae.

For younger students, Poomsae can sometimes feel challenging because it involves repeated movements, memorisation and concentration.

However, through consistent practice, Damien developed his focus, balance, spatial awareness and accuracy of movement.

What he once found difficult has now become something he enjoys. He can confidently memorise and perform his Poomsae, and he has grown into a strong Junior Black Belt.

Damien’s journey shows that something that may feel difficult at first can become a source of confidence and enjoyment through consistent effort.

Keegan

Keegan started Taekwondo at the age of four and is now eight years old.

Although he is still young, he approaches training with great strength and determination.

During sparring, even as one of the younger students, Keegan is not afraid to challenge older students. He often moves forward with incredible determination, like a tank charging ahead.

Of course, there have also been times when Keegan felt tired and wanted to give up.

But he continued training and refused to stop, eventually becoming a strong Junior Black Belt.

Keegan’s journey shows how much a young student can achieve through consistent training, courage and a willingness to keep trying.

As Long as You Do Not Give Up, HAN Taekwondo Will Be There With You

There will always be difficult moments in a Taekwondo journey. Sometimes students may feel tired, frustrated or even want to give up.

But when you choose not to give up, you can continue moving forward one step at a time.

At HAN Taekwondo, we support our students throughout their journey and help them develop not only their Taekwondo skills, but also consistency, confidence, responsibility and positive habits.

Congratulations to Peize, Damien and Keegan on successfully achieving their Junior Black Belts! 🥋🎉

We are proud of your hard work and progress, and we look forward to seeing you continue to grow through Taekwondo.

Congratulations and well done!
